Getting your book published isn’t the daunting task you think it is, especially now that there are outfits like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing that allow you to SELF-PUBLISH.
After much procrastination, I recently published a book for my mother, a senior citizen and client. It is now available for purchase as an e-book.
In God’s Presence, One Woman’s Story of Her Life with God and Her Glimpse in Heaven During Cardiac Arrest and Resuscitation, by first time author, Catherine Maurer is primarily an intriguing autobiography of a unique life experience, from idyllic childhood in Newfoundland, Canada and achieving the American dream thru tragedy in the loss of a husband and father, topped off with a near-death experience. She keeps the readers attention as she narrates from her hospital bed.
My mother, Cathy, initially wanted self-publish a hard copy, so I incorporated a publishing company, purchased ISBNs, and created bar codes with suggested retail price (SRP).
We chose an image from a photo website and purchased a license to use it, created the front cover with the image, the binder section, and back cover with the bar code and SRP. We then took the digital files to a local printer. Of course, I also created an account at the U.S.P.T.O. and procured formal copyrights.
It was much easier than I made it out to be! If you have questions about publishing your book, please inquire.
